IASTEC whitepaper „CO2 emission regulation for passenger cars“ – July 2024

This whitepaper „CO2 emission regulation for passenger cars“ has been published in July 2024 and analyses the impact of the European CO2 emission regulation for passenger cars on real CO2 emissions.

The current CO2 emission legislation for passenger cars is leading to significantly increased real CO2 emissions in comparison with the legislation limit. Real emissions including production and operation of the new vehicles will often be more than 3 times higher than the actual legislation limit in the year 2030 of i.e. 49 egCO2/km.

For this reason, the CO2 emission legislation must be comprehensively revised and developed on the basis of a correct physical balancing.
